People-to-People (PTP) is an independent, non-governmental, nonprofit, and non-partisan organization dedicated to transforming war-torn communities.

People to People (PTP) was established in 2021 by a group of dedicated activists committed to fostering peace and development in Sudan. As an independent, non-governmental, and non-profit organization, we work tirelessly to transform war-torn communities into resilient, peaceful societies.
Our approach is rooted in the belief that sustainable peace begins at the grassroots level. By empowering individuals and communities through civic education, human rights advocacy, and livelihood support, we aim to build a foundation for lasting stability and prosperity.
As a member of the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) and a founding member of the Regional Network for Forgiveness and Reconciliation in the Arab World, PTP is deeply committed to achieving transitional justice, lasting peace, and equality for all members of Sudanese society.
Our History
Being Sudanese, I have asked myself repeatedly why my country has been embroiled in various civil wars for 55 of its 65 years of independence, despite the many peace agreements that have been signed. The only seemingly peaceful period was a ten-year break, which Johan Galtung might refer to as 'Negative Peace' between (1972-1983).
The Birth of a Vision
Dr. Adeeb Yousif brought together five individuals who shared a common dream: a world where peace, justice, tolerance, and human dignity prevail. This collective vision laid the foundation for what would become 'People to People,' an organization dedicated to transforming lives and fostering unity across communities. That same year, the organization established its main office in Sudan.
A Milestone in Growth
'People to People' officially became a legally registered non-governmental organization (NGO) in Sudan. This step solidified its commitment to its mission and enabled it to expand its reach. Partnerships with esteemed organizations such as USAID, SAFEWORLD, and UNITAMS underscored its credibility and capacity to drive impactful programs.
Expanding Horizons
'People to People' forged a partnership with Freedom House. The organization also launched its environmental conservation initiatives, focusing on planting trees in Darfur, Sudan. This project not only addressed climate change but also symbolized hope and renewal for communities in the region.
Reaching New Frontiers
'People to People' extended its environmental conservation efforts to Kiryandongo, Uganda, planting trees to combat deforestation. The organization secured partnerships with Global Giving, the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP), and the African Development Trust (ADT). A major milestone was the legal registration in Uganda and the establishment of the Hope Community Multipurpose Center in Kiryandongo, Uganda.

From its inception in 2021 to its expanding impact across borders, 'People to People' has remained steadfast in its mission to promote peace, justice, and human dignity. With a strong foundation built on collaboration, innovation, and resilience, the organization looks forward to continuing its journey of transforming lives and creating a brighter future for all.
